Since we work so closely to support the mission work of Lutheran Church–Canada, our projects reflect the needs found in areas in which LCC works. These are Central America, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and our own country, Canada.
CLMS is a unique ministry within LCC. Our projects fall within three categories:
- Regular Projects – These are projects proposed by LCC Missions, either Domestic or International, and have been adopted by CLMS. CLMS guarantees funding of these projects even if the project has to be carried over to the next year.
- Donor-Initiated Projects – These can be proposed by individuals, churches or Regions within Canada, or churches and agencies from overseas. CLMS makes no financial commitment to these projects, only disbursing the funds received. In the recent past we have supported Church Worker Training in Rwanda, the building of latrines at a Christian school in Cameroon, and are currently accepting funds for Lutherans in Africa who support a seminary in Kenya.
- Special Projects – These are multi year projects where funds are usually received from an outside source other than our regular donors.
All projects must comply with the mission strategy of LCC or that of a partner church in a mission area in which LCC is pursuing mission work.
